Walter Frank Stelma, Jr., 75. of Charleroi passed away on Monday, February 5, 2024. Born on December 6, 1948 he was the son of the late Walter and Marie Stelma.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member and Past Commander of the Charleroi American Legion Post 22, the Charleroi Knights of Columbus and the Italia Unita Club. He was retired from Rock Ten and had most recently worked at Allied Security. He also enjoyed camping at his camp in Elysburg, PA.
Walter is survived by his children, Walter “Chip” (Maria Stasko) Stelma III, of Speers and Michelle (James) Tegtmeier, of Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Trey (Amanda Boyd) Stelma, Derrick Tegtmeier, Meagan (Josh Haskins) Tegtmeier, Jordyn Tegtmeier, and A1C Sarah (SrA Victor) Diaz; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Tegtmeier and Logan Webster; sister, Mary Marlene Sejuit, of Shamokin, PA; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Dexter.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Loni Stelma; grandson, Alex Stelma; and brother-in-law, Wally Sejuit.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, February 8 in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME. A blessing service will be at 11 am on Friday in the funeral home followed by interment in Mon Valley Memorial Park, with full military honors conducted by the Charleroi American Legion Post 22.
