Thomas Lee Chaney, 87, of Charleroi, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Jefferson Hospital. Born on November 19, 1938 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late George and Maude (Smiley) Chaney.
He was Catholic by Faith and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a retired fleet manager for Coca-Cola, was a member of the Charleroi Italian Club (I.U.C.) and had a love of fishing and for the Cleveland Browns.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Monica (Kucherawy) Chaney, of Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown; son, Jeff (Kim) Chaney, of Wayland, MI; daughters, Bridget (Scott) Behanna, of Charleroi and Rebecca (Jason) Gzym, of Ann Arbor, MI; grandchildren, Connor Chaney, Carson Chaney, Chelsea (Zach) Yonash, Garrett Behanna, Paige Behanna, Max Gzym and Piper Gzym; great-grandchildren, Hudson and Arlo Yonash; sister, Shirley (Bill) Cronister, of Mansfield, OH; childhood best friend, Sonny Evans, of Cleveland; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Norris, George, Jim, Bob, Betty, Donna, Marie and Carol.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm, followed by a Catholic Blessing service and US Army honor guard at 7 pm, on Thursday, May 21, 2026 in the funeral home.
