Susan L. Braunegg

Susan Litavec Braunegg, 93, of Charleroi, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.  Born on March 19, 1926, in Roscoe, she was the daughter of  the late Mary (Bury) and Joseph Litavec.  

She was a graduate of California High School and worked at Corning Glass a few years later.  She married Hubert Braunegg, in August, 1951.  She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church and was a volunteer for the Charleroi Food Pantry, Lifeline, Meals on Wheels, Auxiliary at Mon Valley Hospital, and St. Vincent de Paul Store.  She was awarded 2005 Community Champion Recognition (Pittsburgh) and 2009 Gibbons Award MVH for Community Service.  

Susan is survived by her children, Janice Brandeburg (Stephen), of Maumelle, AR, Richard Braunegg (Rita), of Jacksonville, FL, William Braunegg (Suzanne), of Las Vegas, NV, David Braunegg (Patricia), of Concord, MA, and Sharon Barbrow (Mark), of Latrobe, PA; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Paul, Rev. Edward, and Thomas Litavec; and sisters, Agnes Braunegg, Ann Krupa, Helen Litavec, and Dorothy Reeves.  

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Hubert Braunegg; sister, Mary Krofchek; and brothers, John and Joseph Litavec.  

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 4 in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Friday, in Mary, Mother of the Church, with interment following in Sacred Heart Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charleroi Food Pantry or to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
