Obituary
Stella Frantz, 99, of Charleroi passed away on Friday, February 10, 2023. Born on July 1, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Poteray.
She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and the Charleroi Golden Agers. She enjoyed spending time with family and doing yardwork. She also enjoyed taking casino trips and traveling the country with her husband.
Stella is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Jon) Batchelor, of Pittsburgh, Lorraine McGovern, of McMurray, and Diane Bachik, of McMurray; grandchildren, Rachel, Alyssa, John, Katie, Jennifer, Courtney, and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ezra, Stella, Everleigh, and Maverick; sisters, Eleanor Yocolano, of Donora, Norma Chasko, of Finleyville, and Maryann (Jim) Smith, of Monessen; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Joseph S. Frantz; brothers, Larry and Bobby Poteray; sisters, Helen Poteray and Mildred Brown; and sons-in-law, Jack McGovern and Henry Bachik.
Friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 15 at 10 am at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Charleroi. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
