Sidonia E. Simsic, 74, of Charleroi, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
Born on October 30, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Einar A. and Mary Margaret Riley.
She was a very active member of Mary, Mother of the Church, was a delegate for the Mon Valley Initiative, and was the treasurer for the Greater Charleroi Community Development Association. She retired as the Director of Administrative Services for HUD, where she worked from 1979-2007.
Sidonia is survived by her son, Mark Simsic, and wife Cheryl, of Rostraver, Twp.; sister, Dorothy Wagner, and husband Ralph, of Palmer, AK; and grandchildren, Joseph, Tyler, and Sarah Simsic.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Simsic; brother, Thomas A. Riley; and loving companion, Frank J. Nicolaus.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February, 19, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, Funeral Director. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, in Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi, with interment following in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Twp.
