Robert Romito Obituary

Robert L. Romito, of Melbourne Beach, Florida, died unexpectedly on Tuesday July 5, 2106, at the age of 63.  He was born on January 16, 1953, in Charleroi, the son of  the late Dr. Louis A. and Lucille C. Romito.  

He graduated from Charleroi Area High School in 1970, where he excelled in football.  He was recruited by Temple University, where he continued to play football until he graduated in 1974 and received a BS in Education.  Upon graduation he started a very lengthy and successful career in the steel industry.  He was a member of the Association of Iron and Steel Engineers, and a member of the Association for Iron and Steel Technology for over 20 years, among many others.  He was also a member of the Charleroi Masonic Lodge No. 615 as well as the NRA.  On March 29, 1986, he married the love of his life, Elizabeth.  They resided in Washington, PA for the majority of their marriage until moving to Florida in 2011 to enjoy their retirement.  He will be remembered for his humor, his outgoing personality, his passion, and positive personality.  Rob was a loyal loving and devoted husband, father and friend.  

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Romito; brother, Louis “Art” Romito, of Charleroi; son, Rad (Karla) Romito, of St. Petersburg, FL; daughters, Rayni (Branden) Romito-Williams, of Beverly Hills, CA,  and Tori Romito, at home; granddaughter, Viviana Williams; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by brother, Dr. Dirk A. Romito.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director.
