Patricia J. Dunkers 87, of Sammamish, WA died Monday, March 24, 2025 at her daughter’s family home. She was born February 11, 1938, in Charleroi, PA, daughter of the late Joseph S. Nandor and Susan M. Zamiska.
Patricia (Oma) was a wonderful grandparent to her 5 grandkids. She was a teacher of 20+ years, a wife of 45 years, and a mother for 65 years. After the death of her husband, Donald Alexander Dunkers, she moved in with her daughter, grandson, and son-in-law for the last 18 years of her life. While living there, she took on the role of second mother-getting her grandchild off to school, making meals after school, and getting him to and from summer camp. She loved having her dog Luv for 16 years. She also became a friend to her daughter, meeting for weekly lunches and going on grocery store outings. She was an amazingly talented seamstress and knitter her entire life, from custom wedding dresses to winter sweaters, to a family Christmas stocking that she made for everyone and spans 5 generations. She dedicated 24 years caring for her husband after he became wheel-chair bound during their 40s, and was a breast cancer survivor.
Surviving her are two sons and daughters-in-law, Don Alexander and Lisa Dunkers, of Ephrata, PA and Dan Joseph and Joy Dunkers, of Lusby MD; and a daughter and son-in-law, Dee Ann and Jim Belsky, of Sammamish, WA; also survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Matthew, Andrew Alexander, Dan Jacob & Johanna Marie Dunkers and Dylan Belsky.
Friends received from 10 to 10:30 am on Monday, April 7 at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 624 Washington Ave., Charleroi. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 followed by interment in Monongahela Cemetery.
