Marian "Pat" Gillot, 73, of Charleroi, died on July 25, 2016. Born on February 14, 1943, she was the daughter of the late John Harold and Sara Patricia Parks.
She was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, and was a graduate of Charleroi High School, University of Tampa (B.S., Biology), California University of Pennsylvania (M.S., Biology), and received Medical Laboratory Scientist training at Patterson and Coleman.
She did research and laboratory work at Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh, and taught at Mon Valley Career & Technology Center, substitute teacher at Charleroi and Belle Vernon High Schools, Westmoreland Community College, and Douglas School of Business, where she retired.
She was involved with the Catholic Women's College Club, Historical Society, Library Society, President of the PTA where she helped start the Junior High PTA, Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority, and was a Girl Scout Leader.
She was an excellent mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was dedicated to her family and friends. She and her husband spent all their vacations in Texas or Florida with their grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her children, Kimberly (Joseph) Dobrinski , and Michael Gillot; grandchildren, Ilena (Robert Seth) Lendermon , Jason (Eileen Vazquez)Dobrinski, and Michael (Andrea Segar)Dobrinski ; great- grandchildren, Emma Tighe, and Wyatt, Nathan, and Nicholas Lendermon; sister, Sallie Schroyer; and brothers, John "Jack" Parks and Joe (Wilma)Parks.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Roger Gillot; brother-in-law, Jim Schroyer; and sister-in-law, Judy Parks.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, in Mary, Mother of the Church, with interment at 2:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
