Lillian E. Wisyanski Fowkes,76, of Fallowfield Twp., died on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Born on August 21, 1938, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late Sophia Seydor Jotko and William Wisyanski.
Lil was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church and their Christian Mothers. She graduated from Rostraver High School with the class of 1959, and was proud to have only missed one class reunion. She was an original member of the 500 Bid Card Club for 55 years, and she loved going to the Meadow's, Atlantic City, and Las Vegas with her husband and family. She was a fantastic caretaker of her children and grandchildren, and was also a babysitter for numerous children in the valley. Her favorite holiday to celebrate was Valentine's Day and she loved cardinals.
Known as "Grammy" to her entire family, she is survived by sons, Bill Fowkes, Jr., and wife Jill, of Smithburg, MD, Tom Fowkes, of Fallowfield Twp., and Larry Fowkes, and wife Sally, of New Eagle; daughters, Linda Moss, and husband Jim, of Fallowfield Twp., Carol Burgess, and husband Richard, of North Charleroi, and Gerry Brovey, and husband Michael, of Bridgeport, WV; grandchildren, Shannon Fowkes, and fiancee Stephen Sachariah, Andy Fowkes, Cpt Jimmy Moss, and wife Bethany, Jamie Moss, and fiancee Sean McGowan, Austin Fowkes, Nick Fowkes, Sammi Fowkes, Anthony Amprim, Adam Amprim, and fiancee Val Lazar, Anna Amprim, and Cole and Luke Brovey; step grandchildren, Kelli Dellarose, and husband Justin, Kari Sampson, and Richard and Mat Burgess; step great-grandchildren, Brody and Logan Dellarose; sister, Marlene Fraccastoro, of Texas; brothers, Tom Wisyanski, and wife Donna, of Connecticut, and Leonard Wisyanski, and wife Pat, of Charleroi; brothers-in-law, Harry Fowkes, of Richeyville, and Jerry Hall, and wife Barb, of Charleroi; sister-in-law, Donna Coxey, and husband Paul, of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, William "Bill" Fowkes, who died on Sept. 10, 2012.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in Mary, Mother of the Church, 624 Washington Ave, Charleroi, celebrated by Lil's close friend and Pastor, Rev. Gerald Mikonis. Those attending the mass are asked to PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH on Monday. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
