Kathy Bongiorno, 65, of Fallowfield Twp., died on Sunday, June 14, 2015, in her home, surrounded by family.  

Born on April 1, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Donald L. and Gloria Cosner Osborne.  

Kathy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was always admired for her strength, compassion, and ability to always see the glass half full, not empty.   She was a graduate of IUP, with a Master's in English.  Kathy's passion in life were her grandkids.  She did everything for her family, always a pillar of inspiration.  She also enjoyed gardening and shopping with her best friend, Brenda Smith, a.k.a. Thelma & Louise.  Kathy will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched.  She lived by the words of Beverly Sills, "I've always tried to go a step past wherever people expected me to end up".  

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Joe Bongiorno; son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Marisa Bongiorno, of Monessen; daughter, Michelle Antal, of Washington; granddaughters, Courtney Jo, Riley, Morgan, Mia Nicole, and Jordan Bongiorno; brother, Dave Osborne, of Fallowfield Twp.; niece, Chelsey Rae Osborne, of Fallowfield Twp.; and her new dog, Joey.  

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Donald J. "Ozzie" Osborne.  

As per Kathy's wishes, there will be no visitation.  The family will announce a memorial wake at a later date.
