Joseph Kosanko Obituary

On Tuesday August 30, 2016, Joseph Kosanko joined his family and friends in heaven. Born on his family farm in Jefferson Township, Joe was the 9th of 11 children to his parents Andrew and Anna Kosanko.  

Joe served in the Navy on the USS Boxer during World War II and after discharge in 1946 Joe became a Mason and Bricklayer.  Joe married Peggy Gargan on July 17, 1954 and they were the parents to four sons, Joseph, Timothy, Gregory, and Mark.  Joe retired from bricklayers local #9 in 1987 and remained a lifetime member through his death. After retirement, Joe's passions shifted to his beloved family, his farm, and his immaculate garden.  

Joe is survived by his wife, Margaret J. "Peggy" Gargan Kosanko; sons, Joseph A. Kosanko, of Fayette City, Timothy J. (Vicki) Kosanko, of LaSalle, MI, Gregory A. (Brenda) Kosanko, of Fayette City, and Mark A. (Michelle) Kosanko, of Fayette City; grandchildren, Justin (Autumn) Kosanko, Timothy J. Kosanko, Charles Kosanko, and Alexandra, Zachary, Andrew, Kierstyn, and Kailey Kosanko; great-grandchildren, Austin and Emma Kosanko; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by sisters, Mary Waite, Elizabeth K. Lang, Anna Protos Smith, Helen Roman Shetterly, Kathryn Esper, and Irene Kruzek Pallo; and brothers, Andrew, Michael, Stephen, and John Kosanko.  

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
