James "Butch" McCarty, 70, of Charleroi, died on May 1, 2016. Born on April 26, 1946, he was the son of the late Ross and Sophie McCarty.
He was an avid big game hunter and fisherman, and he travelled to South Africa, Venezuela, and Canada. He was a member of the Charleroi Archery Club and the Charleroi Sportsman Club. He was a self employed paint contractor, Custom Colors.
Butch is survived by his fiancé, Sharon Willey, of Charleroi; son, Edward McCarty, Sr., of Washington; daughter, Trudy (Jeff) Polonoli, of Van Voorhis; grandchildren, E.J. (Aubrey Marcolini) McCarty, and Jocelyn and Jeffrey Polonoli; brothers, Richard McCarty, of Greensburg and Donald (Joanna) McCarty, of Rostraver; sister, Vera Matey, of South Park; nephews, Brian and Donald McCarty; and his 2 beloved dogs, Abby and Zoey.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Jack McCarty.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, on Saturday, May 7, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director.
