James A. Lundy, Sr., 85, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2016. Born on October 23, 1931, he was the son of the late John and Julia Lundy.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea, and was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport, and the Charleroi Area School District. He was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, the Charleroi American Legion Post 22, and the Italia Unita Club.
Jim is survived by his son, James A. Lundy, Jr., and wife Nancy, of Landisville, PA; daughters, Mary Ann Williams, and husband Steve, of Harrisburg, and Jamie Pomponio, and husband Gene, of Charleroi; grandchildren, Jennifer Bova, and husband Dave, Matthew Williams, James Lundy III, Stephen Williams, Jr., and wife Faith, Taylor Lundy, and Gina Hafley, and husband Jeff; and great-grandchildren, Rose and Gia Bova, Andi Williams, and Hope Hafley.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Marie Lundy, on August 15, 2016; brothers, William, Jack, Regis, and Donald Lundy; and sister, Joan Lundy.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERA HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, in Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi, with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.
