Francis "Frank" Joseph Nicolaus, 74, of Fallowfield Twp., died on Friday, November 27, 2015. Born on February 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph O. and Elizabeth M. Dezurco Nicolaus.
After high school, he attended the Capuchin Fathers Monastary, in Pittsburgh. He is retired from Matthews Bronze Division, in Pittsburgh, and works currently as a local florist. He was a member of Mary, Mother of the Church, a member of church choir and the Chairman of the Art and Environmental Committee.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Beth Ann Nicolaus-Reid, and husband Mark, of Lyndhurst, OH; brother, Richard Nicolaus, of Altoona; sister, Elizabeth Paskan, and husband John, of Sutersville; nephew Benjamin Paskan, and wife Rachel, of Sutersville; and his loving companion, Sidonia E. Simsic, of Charleroi, and her son, Mark Simsic, and wife Cheryl, of Rostraver, and their children, who were like grandchildren, Joseph, Tyler, and Sarah Simsic.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased in death by a nephew, Andrew Paskan; and sister-in-law, Cindy Nicolaus.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, in Mary, Mother of the Church, Charleroi, celebrated by Rev. Jerry Mikonis, with interment following in Grandview Cemetery.
