Emily Checchi, 92, of Charleroi, died on Monday, January 19, 2015.  Born on November 6, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Quiro and Clemintina Celaschi.  

She was a member of the former Mother of Sorrows Church, the Christian Mothers, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Garibaldi Club of Dunlevy.  

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hammer, and husband Harry, of McMurray; granddaughters, Julie DeFilippo, and husband Peter, of McDonald, and Jennifer Bunnell, and husband Joshua, of Imperial; great-grandson, Dominic DeFilippo; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Elmo A. Checchi; son, Elmo D. Checchi; sister, Mary Martucci; and brothers, Louis, Bruno, Albert, and Herman Celaschi.  

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, in Mary, Mother of the Church, celebrated by Rev. Jerry Mikonis, with interment following in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
