Donald J. Podwika, 80, formerly of Charleroi and Rostraver, died on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in his retirement home in Orlando, FL. Born on March 8, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mildred Podwika.
He was a former member of Mary, Mother of the Church, and was very active within the Charleroi community, as a former council president, and a member of the recreation board and the Elks. He was a veteran of the US Air Force from 1955-1959, and was a retired supervisor for Wetterau and Supervalu.
Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores Podwika, of Orlando; daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Aaron Kash, of Orlando; grandchildren, Jessalyn and Jonathan Kash; brother, Ronald (Carol) Podwika, of Charleroi; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Miles Podwika.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 20, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. A blessing will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, in the funeral home, celebrated by Rev. Jerry Mikonis, with interment following in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
