Dean Forrest Blair, 63, of Charleroi, died on December 27, 2014. He was born on May 30, 1951 in Gibsonton “The Alley”, Rostraver Twp.

He graduated from Belle Vernon Area High School and California University of Pennsylvania.  He retired from Corning Glass/World Kitchen in 2006.  

He is predeceased by his beloved grandmother,  Ann “Bubba” Galen, of Gibsonton; mother, Myrna Jeanne Galen Blair, of Belle Vernon and Pt. St. Lucie, FL.; adoptive father, David “Corky” Blair, of Belle Vernon and Pt. St. Lucie, FL.; beloved father and mother-in-law, Emil Louis and Mary Rose Pomponio (who treated him like a son), of Charleroi; loving uncle and aunt, Eugene and Pat Russo (who also treated him like a son), of Gibsonton and Speers; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  

Dean is survived by his wife of 44 years, Julie Pomponio Blair, of Charleroi; his beloved son, Colby Michael Blair, of Charleroi; sister, Laurie Southerly, of Pt. St. Lucie, FL; sister-in-law, Joyce Gregor, of Stroudsburg, PA; niece, Jamie Gregor, of Huntington Beach, CA; nephew, Evan Gregor, of New York City; cousins, Gene Russo (who was like a brother) and Wife, Andrea, of Charleroi, and Althea “Butch” McDonnell, of Monessen; good friends, Larry and Danalle Bonde, Ron and Jan Kereston, Ron Krepps, and Bill Shepler; several aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins spread across the area, country, and world.  

He loved growing up in Gibsonton and being one of “The Alley Boys”. He said it was the best possible place on Earth to grow up, and he always said, “Fifteen minutes after I’m gone, forget I was ever here.”   But nobody could ever forget him.  

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 29, in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
