Cat Dean

Catherine 'Cat' Dean, 57, of Donora passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Jefferson Hospital after a short illness. Born on November 5, 1968 she was the daughter of the late William and Lucille Dean.

She was a member of the North Charleroi French Club and currently worked as a bartender at the Kozy Nook. She participated in the Charleroi Pool League and the USAPL with her husband, John.

Cat is survived by her husband, John Smith, of Donora; daughter, Monica Hamilton, of Donora, son, A.J. (Emily) Hamilton, of Dunlevy; grandchildren, Sarah Bridges and Ellie Hamilton; brothers, Frankie, Johnny Ray and Bill Dean; and her dog and cat, Bear Bear and Gizmo.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Dean, and sister, Linda Dean.

As per Cat's wishes, there will be no visitation. An “adult” celebration of life will be held at the Kozy Nook on Saturday, August 1 and a formal celebration will be held at the Dunlevy Rec Center on Sunday, August 2 starting at noon.
