Bertha J. Walak, 90, of Fairfax, VA, passed away on January 22, 2019.  Born on February 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Horgas.  

She was a member of Epiphany of our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, Annandale, VA, and was retired from the Pentagon as a secretary for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  

She is survived by a niece, Barbara Russo, of Charleroi; Barb's children Dante and Brieanne Russo; and cousin, Trina Dee.  

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, George Walak; sister, Marie; and brother, Paul.  

Divine Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, January 26 at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Braddock, PA, with interment following.
