Andrew M. Duda, 68, of Fayette City (Naomi), passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. Born on April 21, 1951, he was the son of the late Stanley and Helen (Soohey) Duda.
He was Catholic by faith and was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel where he had worked for 40 years as a craneman and served as union committeeman. He was a member of the East Belle Vernon Athletic Association and the Pricedale Hungarian Club. He was a devoted family man who took care of his parents and he was a person that everybody loved to be around and would often “needle” his friends. He was also known as one of the best mechanics in his younger days.
Andy is survived by his son and best friend, Andrew Mark Duda, Jr., at home; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Lynn and Bill Petyak, of Charleston, SC; brother-in-law, David Ferguson, and wife Audrey, of Monessen; sister-in-law, Donna Yurko, and husband Joe, of Scenery Hill; and several close friends.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Sheila R. Duda, in 2015; in-laws, Harold and Laverne Ferguson; and uncle, Walter Duda.
As per Andrew's wishes, there will be no visitation and services will be private. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
