Amelia Petrilak, 100, of Charleroi, passed away on December 23, 2020. Born on March 15, 1920, she was the daughter of the late George and Justina (Tirpak) Petrilak.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Charleroi, where she was very active in church cooking activities. She was a retired teacher for the Charleroi School District, teaching kindergarten and first grade at the old 9th Street school. For the past few years, she has been a resident of the Victoria House where she received wonderful care.
Amelia is survived by a nephew, George (Theresa) Carr, of Pittsburgh; and niece, Barbara Jean (Leonard) Milletti, and son Michael, of Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by brothers, John and Julius Petrilak; sisters, Olga, Anna, Mary, Helen, and Mary Petrilak, and Magdaline Carr; and great-niece, Julie Ann Carr.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, December 27 in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Panachida will be at 10:30 am on Monday, in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at 11 am. at Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Charleroi, with Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow in Charleroi Cemetery.
