Rose, Mom and I are deeply sorry to learn your beloved son, Allen has passed away.  Our most sincere sympathy and condolences.  Mom liked your boys so much when you were neighbors on Isabella Avenue in Lock #4.  She still remembers you and your boys.

Alan was like a son to us, he gave so much of himself to everyone. Alan was such a kind hearted man, he was always willing to help in any way he could. He was so proud to become a father he would do anything for his son. Alan was best friends with so many people, but we know the friendship we had with him was special. Our hearts are broken and we will never heal, but we are so lucky to have so many great memories of Alan.
He brought so much joy and laughter into our lives and he showed us no matter how down and out he was he still had so much to give to others.
Alan never said no when someone needed help, we just hope that we all look around and remember just a hello or a hug goes a long way for so many people. Alan never wanted much from others just a smile a hug and a chance to be your friend lets all give someone in our lives a chance reach out with a smile or a hug in memory of Alan.
