Stephen “Steve” Labosh, 93, of Charleroi, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Mon Valley Hospital, after a lengthy illness with family by his side.  Born on March 14, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Urda) Labosh.

A lifetime resident of Charleroi, Stephen was an active member of the Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church of Charleroi.  Stephen was loved by his family and was very supportive toward them.  He always remembered birthdays and anniversaries.  He enjoyed fishing and collecting stamps, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.  Stephen was a World War II veteran, having served in the Army in the China-India Theater.  He received the Asian Pacific Theater Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal.  He was employed at Grant & Bliss Hardware, in Charleroi, Corning Glass, and was department manager at the hardware department at Hill's Department Store.  He was instrumental in establishing the Charleroi Food Bank and had still worked there until the very end.

Stephen is survived by his sister-in-law, Joanne Weightman, of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Harriet Whitelaw Labosh, in 2005; sisters, Magdaline “Peggy” Honchalk and Mary Karbowsky Peffer; and brother, John Labosh, Jr.

Friends will be received on Friday, July 5, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm in the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Uncle Steve will be missed by all those that he loved because there will be no more birthday cards from him. When our birthdays rolled around the first birthday card you received was from Uncle Steve. He could not have been a better Uncle and he will be forever loved and missed!
